Studio Portraits:
More than ‘just photos’
Welcome to PAK Photography!
Your dog takes centre stage against bold or soft background colours of your choice, celebrating your dog’s unique personality. By capturing the character that makes your best friend so special, we create memories that last a lifetime.
Whether they sit like a pro, offer a hopeful head tilt, or they’re a high‑energy bundle of chaos, our sessions are never rushed, producing high quality professional portraits you can cherish.
Why choose PAK Photography:
Traditional, more formal studio environments can sometimes feel unfamiliar for dogs, making it difficult for them to relax and feel comfortable. I’ve found that the best portraits happen when a dog feels at home. Our Home Studio is a relaxed and calming environment that sets your dog up for success, allowing their true self to shine.
We’re a small, local business, which means your experience is tailored to you and your dog. We’re not about one-size-fits-all sessions - each shoot is thoughtfully planned around you and your dog from start to finish, ensuring every image reflects your dog’s unique character, and you both enjoy a wonderful bonding experience with memories that last.
Experienced Dog Owner and proud dog mum of three. I’ve had dogs from a young age, giving me years of hands on experience. They aren’t just pets but loved members of the family, and they deserve to be showcased and celebrated as such. In 2020, I invested in dog training courses focused on understanding behaviour and building confidence. This knowledge helps me read body language, allowing me to patiently and confidently work with dogs of all types and personalities, helping them feel at ease.
There’s no hard sell here, it’s just not me! There is no pressure or commitment to purchase anything. I believe your images will speak for themselves. After viewing your finished images, you’ll have the opportunity to choose what works best for you, whether that’s digital images, artwork, or both.
Who we are:
Hi, I’m Beth, a passionate dog photographer based in a quiet Oxfordshire village—with three gorgeous, goofy dogs of my own. We all wish our pets could live forever. I’m here to capture those authentic, heartfelt moments and turn them into memories that last a lifetime.
How it works:
Step 1 - Let’s chat
Before your session, we’ll have a friendly phone call, allowing you to ask any questions you might have and for me to go over all the important details.
Step 2 - The Photoshoot
The fun part, your session will last around one hour, giving us plenty of time to capture a beautiful variety of images without rushing.
Step 3 - Background Magic
After your session, I’ll carefully select the best images and begin the professional retouching process, preparing your images to look their absolute best.
The best bit, once your images are ready, you’ll be invited back for a relaxed Viewing Session so you can see all your images for the first time, and you can choose your favourites.
Step 4 - The Reveal
This is what Andrea said about her Studio portrait experience:
“Honestly, how have I not done this sooner? Beth looked after us, I was nervous as Harley is easily distracted but a little ham and Beth’s calm studio and she was golden. ”
FAQs
-
Don’t worry - most dogs don’t! In fact, the most character-filled portraits often come from those unplanned, 'perfectly imperfect' moments. To help them feel secure, your dog can stay on a lead during the session; this allows them to relax and enjoy the experience without the pressure of following commands. I then professionally 'edit out' the lead during the retouching process, leaving you with a seamless, beautiful portrait.

The photographic studio is at our home in a quiet village near Abingdon, Oxfordshire, with secure parking, easy access and space for your dog to wander outside in the garden.
I’ve found that a home setting is far less intimidating for dogs, helping them settle in much faster than a traditional commercial studio.
-
Of Course! No dog should miss out on beautiful portraits. Having trained as a dog trainer and being a mum to three dogs myself, I am well-versed in reading canine body language and managing nervous pups. We have welcomed reactive and anxious dogs into the studio with great success.
Your dog’s comfort is my absolute priority. If they struggle with the equipment or appear distressed, we stop immediately. Before your session, we’ll discuss exactly what sets them up for success—whether that’s bringing familiar blankets, removing potential triggers, or scheduling a shorter 'mini-session.' We work entirely at your dog's pace, with as many breaks as they need.
-
Yes! One of the best parts of a studio session is selecting the colours that complement your dog’s coat and personality, or match the decor of your home. I generally suggest up to two colours for a standard one-hour session; this ensures we have plenty of time to capture a variety of beautiful images without the 'changeovers' taking away from your dog's relaxed experience.
You can view our available colours in the Session Guide, and on the portfolio page. If you’re unsure which shade will best suit your best friend, I’m always happy to offer my expert advice!

Our sessions are designed to be a quiet bonding experience between you and your dog. For this reason, we limit attendance to two adults only. We are currently unable to accommodate children or larger family groups in the studio, as our setup is dedicated entirely to capturing professional pet portraits in a distraction-free setting
-
Treats—and plenty of them! We recommend bringing more than you think you’ll need, as they can disappear quickly when your dog is being a superstar. It's important to reward them for their hard work in a new environment, plus they are essential for those fun 'treat-catching' shots. By bringing your own, you can ensure we’re using their absolute favourites while managing any specific allergies or dietary requirements.
-
Yes, you are very welcome to bring up to two dogs to your session! There is a small additional fee of £25 for the second dog to account for the extra time and editing involved. To ensure every dog has enough space to feel relaxed and safe, our home studio is currently limited to a maximum of two dogs per session.
-
The 'big reveal' is one of the best parts of the experience! Your final, professionally edited images will be presented during a dedicated viewing session at the studio, usually scheduled one to two weeks after your shoot.
We host these sessions in person to ensure your portraits are seen in their full, high-quality glory before purchase. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see your dog’s personality come to life on the big screen and for us to chat through any framing or wall art options together.
-
Absolutely. I believe your portraits deserve to be displayed, but I also know that printing and framing can feel overwhelming. I’ve partnered with expert professional labs to offer a curated selection of stunning wall art and bespoke frames, taking the stress out of the process for you.
I value complete transparency, so upon enquiry, I’ll send over a full Wall Art and Digital price guide. This allows you to review all our beautifully valued packages and individual products priced in detail before you even book your session.
-
At the moment, I specialise in studio-based photography. However, I do offer seasonal outdoor 'mini-sessions' and model calls throughout the year! While we aren't taking bookings for full outdoor portraits right now, the best way to stay updated is to follow our social media pages, where all future dates and openings will be announced first. To find us, simply click on the Instagram icon at the top of the website.
